Organize ticket sales for a club event
Why online ticket sales?
Online ticket sales have significant advantages over traditional methods:
- You know in advance how many people will be attending, essential for catering and venue layout
- No dealing with cash or multiple transfers
- An automatic QR code for each purchaser. Easy to scan at the entrance
- Waiting list for sold-out events
How to set up a ticketed event?
Create an event with a name, date, time, venue and the maximum number of tickets. You set the ticket price. Once you publish the event it goes live immediately on your Verenigingsplanner page.
If you want a free event, you simply skip the payment step and people register directly. They will still receive a confirmation with a QR code. Handy for an overview of who is coming.
Payment via iDEAL
iDEAL is the standard for online payments in the Netherlands. After registration the buyer is redirected to their own bank, they pay and they immediately receive a confirmation by email with their personal QR code.
Access control with a QR scanner
At the entrance to your event, you scan the visitors' QR codes. You immediately see whether the ticket is valid and has not yet been used. This prevents fraud and dramatically speeds up the entry process. Scanning can be done with Verenigingsplanner on mobile or with a HID-barcodescanner.
Communicate clearly to your audience
Ensure a clear purchase link in all your communications: email, social media, posters, website. Always include:
- Date, time and venue
- Price per ticket
- Maximum number of tickets available
- Whether refunds are possible in the event of cancellation
Service charges
Some ticket platforms charge high commissions (5–10% of the ticket price). Verenigingsplanner charges nothing to associations and is the cheapest in terms of service charges for visitors.
After the event
Afterwards you will have a complete list of all attendees. Use it for follow-up communications, a thank-you email or for organising the next event. Data from your ticket sales also helps you understand which events are most in demand.
